SUMMARY:

Oh my Ghost! is an action RPG video game that utilizes body possession to gain abilities and engage in turn-based battles. Created during the Project II course by Dumbell Games, a group of video game and art students at CITM, the game presents a narrative that critiques the functioning of modern society through a fictional society of animals governed by superheroes. This contrast between a cartoonish, fun, and seemingly innocent aesthetic, and the presence of adult themes and sharp, crude humor offers a unique and provocative experience.

In Oh my Ghost!, players take on the role of a spirit capable of possessing different animal bodies, each with unique abilities. These abilities are essential for the turn-based battles characteristic of RPGs, where strategy and the choice of the appropriate body for each situation are key to success.

The game's aesthetic is inspired by traditional American comics, with colorful graphics and caricatured characters that contrast with the depth and seriousness of the themes addressed. The sharp, crude humor is used to tackle adult themes in a way that is both entertaining and thought-provoking.

In Oh my Ghost!, players will travel through various regions of this animal world, facing challenges and enemies that symbolize social and political issues. Each turn-based battle will require the possession of different animal bodies to leverage their unique abilities, adding a layer of strategy to the gameplay experience.

Oh my Ghost! culminates in a series of epic confrontations with the governing superheroes, where the decisions and abilities acquired throughout the game will be put to the test. In the end, players will have the opportunity to influence the fate of this fictional society, reflecting the importance of change and resistance in the real world.

This combination of RPG mechanics, critical narrative, cartoonish aesthetic, and adult humor makes Oh my Ghost! a unique game that invites reflection while entertaining through its dynamic gameplay and vibrant world.
